〰️➰ The body is the vessel for the soul and spirit. 🌬🕊
One of the beautiful manifestations that come through during the Tea Ceremonies I host is how my guests visibly melt into the stillness of the Tea space, virtually or in person. At first they may walk in, especially if this is their very first session, with curiosity and alacrity spiking like crazy (yes I can be very sensitive to the energies). Their senses are on alert and their minds are in a scramble － and mind you, this happens to all of us, even me. I remember wandering down from my office to the Tea space that was just a couple of floors below (as with all divine alignment when Tea was meant to find me), feeling absolutely frazzled with ten thousand things on my to do list, and then as the third bowl grazed my lips, the hot qi-filled liquid nourishing my body's every cell, I began to truly feel peace imbue me.
I can see now in my guests in the way they begin to slow their drinking down; in the way they cradle their vessels of choice quietly with both hands; the way they are so filled with wide-eyed wonder at the simplest, seemingly negligible thing, like the way the leaves spinned with the hot water, and how flavourful water tastes; I see it in the bright spark in their eyes as we come out of meditation, and their softened gazes and voices as we share our heartfelt insights in the nonjudgemental space cultivated through reverence for the Dao by way of the quietude instilled by Tea.
I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to serve and see over hundred precious beings go through this metamorphosis.
November and beyond are going to be life-changing like never before. I am implementing some serious bespoke experiences in place of my regular sessions, so watch this space.
