So many times in therapy, there is a laser focus on food － what to eat, when to eat, what not to eat etc － that actually exacerbates the disordered eating behaviour.
🤷🏻♀️ Is it any wonder that therapy isn't working and/or hasn't worked for you?
👩🍳 Food is not the problem.
🐚 Food is indeed the gateway to reveal how you are seeing the world, yourself, and how you feel or negate your emotions in your body.
🐚 Food is revealing your spiritual connection through your socially constructed perception of how your body should or should not react to Food.
🐚 Food is the gateway to understanding what of which you are truly starved.
🕊 What is the pain that you are avoiding or numbing out? What is the memory that you are trying to dissemble and fulfil through the abuse of food and your body?
Your body feels it all. You know this before you even began to whip it into shape. Before you even began to starve and torment with sharp criticisms in your head, overladen with words of others and the overexposure to the prevalent diet culture that surrounds us.
Your body communicates with you when something is out of alignment.
And in my programme, one of things you will do with me is you get to learn to allow breath into your body to communicate with your mind so it is working with you to understand what your body wants, not against you (ego alert 💢). Breath is spirit. Spirit is breath.
So Breath/Spirit 🪄 Body 🪄 Mind can all be aligned to reconnect any missing energetic circuitry running in your body that is giving way to the "stories" you are letting run the show that is your life.
🔥 In the disordered eating phase, you are under the hypnosis of a very real and massive energetic slum, something you might recognise as brain fog. Whilst you are overexercising/eating and searching for more in your fridge/planning a binge/planning a purge/starving/thinking of what you can eat in limited amount, you get that high that completely wipes out all senses.
🌪 As you emerge from it you feel like you have had a total blackout. What just happened there?
In the case of restrictive eating, it could even be a long-drawn process of blacking out, because you are hypnotising your mind to disconnect from hunger cues and bodily wants.
Remember, when you come into a space with intentions to recover, what you need is very much on the surface level of simply feeling full and not eating more than you need.
💥 But i challenge you to go further.

✨ Dream big. Don't be afraid to see that true version of you that is waiting to come forth － and she will, when you let go of restrictions; when you let go of control; when you decide to stop feeding the flames stoked by some BS society told you.
🙅🏻♀️ You can't take away food and everything will be okay. This is a process addiction, and when you expose it, you are in a place to start nurturing a mindset that is primed for full recovery.
