I had a dream
Of wearing a sundress
Where I walked on sand
Into the embrace of the ocean
Where the waters parted
So human feet can land and toes can sink in the sands of no-time, no space.
Feeling the sun set on my skin
Enraptured by the feeling of being so close to God
Suddenly I was snatched out of the moment
By shouts and yells
I turned to look back at the shoreline and I could not find the way back any longer
For where there used to be footprints
Was now engulfed by the seawater.
The water was coming in quick
I was going to sink
And before I could react
The sand funnelled away
And I was taken by the waves
I resurfaced for a breath
And more shouts and yells from the shore
Were calling me to swim
Swim, LiYing, SWIM!
I tried to keep my head above water
I tried to keep my limbs paddling
I could still hear the voices
Until I could hear nothing more
Because truth be told
I was tired
I was so tired
When can I stop swimming?
When will this end?
What is the whole point of this?
And Tea Spirit said
How long do you think it took for me to be here in this bowl, enlightening you, deepening you?
Very long, I said.
It does not matter how long it takes me
It may take one second for things to change
It might take me forever
I am here for it.
Be you, be free, it's all available for you, 💋
