About the Event
In ancient Chinese culture, Tea trees were known as Immovable. Thus, Tea leaves were used ceremonially in hopes of transmitting that quality to human lives.
Tea is medicine for the body, mind and spirit.
She is a heart-opening medicine when Her presence brings into harmony all aspects of life, from subtle to gross, from spirit to physical - that is why Tea can transport us onto the ineffable, indescribable Dao 道.
Calm Joy comes when we are deeply connected with each other. That is what we all ultimately want and crave.
It took me a while to realise that one could drink Tea for years, centuries even, but never walk the Dao.
When Tea is drank in ceremony, everything comes from the heart and soul, and so becomes a truly simple yet remarkable moment where your true essence, your soul, is stirred.
And when your soul awakes, everything is beautiful.
Bridges begin to form.
Tea flushes out all judgements and allow us to listen, bridging differences, heaven and earth, body, mind and spirit. We no longer feel separate. We no longer feel alone.
And in this moment, everything in harmonious movement, we begin to weave together as we come from a stillness within and act from this place, intentionally and soulfully.
The bridge goes both ways - you can travel to the sacred with Tea and also from the sacred to the ordinary.
To practise Cha Dao · 茶道 ·, we must first let go and begin anew everytime and stay present to the now.
"If the temperature doesn't change from kettle to cup, and your movements are slow and graceful, you can steal the essence of the tea." ~ Master Lin
