When we live a Life of Tea we embody the spirit of Tea and live in ceremony with every breath we take, in and beyond the tea space.
Tears that fall in ceremony are remembrances of who we simply are, despite the grains and the scars on our skin, despite the imperfections that had maimed us and tainted us.
We are all just as we are, right here right now, heart-to-heart, away from the illusions of security, away from the pretences and the personalities that we we are taught we have to put up to matter in this world.
When Tea moves through us, we begin to see the extraordinary in the ordinary, through a practice that could not be more ordinary than drinking Tea.
What lends a sacred reverence to this act of drinking Tea is the respect, the way we bow so deeply to invoke this ancient spirit of the land, the inner earth and the minerals below, and the sky, planets, and galaxies beyond and above.
The Dao itself, one that encompasses everything and nothing, and the very essence of Tea as an ancient plant medicine.
When a plant spirit medicine has been so present in centuries worth of enlightenment practices, from Daoists, to Buddhists, to Confusianists and beyond, all centred upon the intention to dance with the plant's potency to lead to a stillness of the mind, you know there can be no mistake on this journey.
The deep poignancy that arises from this act of drinking Tea in ceremony comes from our own presence, our full attention to the moment, our receptivity and opening hearts.
When we allow ourselves to move beyond the coralling effects of our five senses and rush against time, to-do lists and limiting beliefs, we allow spaciousness for magic and miracles; we are open to feeling the sacred all around us and within us.
