"Gathering in your body and mind. It means not seeking outside. Turn the light around and shine it within." ~ Guan Shi Yin Bodhisattva Tea and Incense to honour the Goddess of Mercy on Her Enlightenment Day.

About the Event
Honouring Guan Shi Yin Pusa, or Kannon, Guan Yin, Goddess of Compassion, for the beautiful teachings and energy that She exudes, we will be sitting in ceremony with Tea on the day that She achieved Enlightenment.
As the legend goes, Guan Yin surrendered the opportunity to become enlightened in the seat of God, in exchange for the everlasting opportunity to walk the face of Earth to feel the pain and listen to the sorrows of human beings to best support and guide them along the way of their lives.
This ceremony is not meant to be religious. We will be steeping in myths and tales, as well as the compassionate energy of this goddess.
Everybody is welcome.
For centuries, Zen monks, taoists and shamans have relied on the Tea Spirit for their healing abilities and ancient wisdom. This is a practice that has been left in the dust of the past as Tea began to be grown and sold as a commodity. In this ritual Tea is honoured as plant medicine and Spirit through creating a sacred space in which our beings can sit in silence, turn inward and reconnect to our hearts, through Nature, through love and gratitude for the simple moments in life.
